City and Chickasaw Nation leaders gathered last month to celebrate the opening of two major projects along the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City’s Horizons District—the MAPS 4 pedestrian bridge and EMBARK’s First Americans Museum (FAM) Landing.
The OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark was named a winner in the 2025 Innovating Commerce Serving Communities (ICSC) Excellence in Community Advancement Awards, announced during ICSC Las Vegas.
Oklahoma City is gaining national recognition, with top travel publications highlighting its cultural and entertainment offerings. The Horizons District, home to the First Americans Museum (FAM) and the OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark, has been a focal point in these features. Both attractions, operated by the Chickasaw Nation, provide a mix of history, entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The Chickasaw Nation-owned Exhibit C Gallery is set to relocate to a new 10,000-square-foot space in Oklahoma City’s Horizons District in early 2025. Positioned next to the First Americans Museum (FAM) and the forthcoming OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark, the reimagined gallery will offer expanded exhibits and introduce artist studio spaces.
