OKC to celebrate completion of Britton District streetscape project

Oklahoma City will celebrate the completion of a $6.6 million streetscape, sidewalk and bike lane improvement project in the historic Britton District with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 27 at 11 a.m. on the east corner of Francis Avenue and Britton Road, led by Mayor David Holt.

Route 66 park boardwalk reopens ahead of 100-year celebration

The boardwalk at Route 66 Park has reopened just in time for the lead-up to Route 66’s 100th anniversary. Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation staff completed a full rebuild of the wetlands path, restoring the attraction after a three-year closure.

OKC expands bike infrastructure with new route in northeast OKC

A new 3.3-mile bike lane is now open in Northeast Oklahoma City, offering cyclists a safer and more convenient way to navigate the area. The route connects the Capitol View, Springlake and Culbertson neighborhoods with key local resources, including Metro Tech’s Springlake Campus, Homeland grocery store and the MAPS 3 Community Health, Recreation and Wellness Center.

Bike enthusiasts gather in Edmond for Cycle 66 races

Cyclists from across the country will gather in Edmond on Nov. 6 for a day of events with Cycle 66. More than 700 riders are expected to arrive in time for Sunday’s events, beginning at 8 a.m. Two courses for kids will be included: a one-mile race and a single-loop criterium. For more experienced riders, three routes will be available, consisting of 10 miles, 33 miles or 66 miles. The Crit @ Cycle 66 race will serve as the main event.
