Bar K offers membership deal as opening day approaches
Oklahoma City’s newest dog park is offering an exclusive deal for its first members.
Bar K, an upcoming dog park, bar and restaurant in the city’s Boathouse District, will open in February and is offering an “Early Dog” membership in anticipation. The “Early Dog” package provides a $50 discount on annual memberships, as well as an additional $25 discount for those registering with more than one dog. Early Dog members will also be invited to take part in an exclusive three-day preview of the Bar K property prior to the public opening.
All of Bar K’s membership packages allow members to have unlimited access to the two-acre facility during operating hours and a separate entrance to avoid waiting in line. Discounts on food, beverages, merchandise, private event spaces and more are included in memberships as well.
“We wanted to provide a special membership package as a welcoming gift to our new neighbors and friends in Oklahoma City,” Bar K Co-Founder and Partner Dave Hensley said in a press release.
“Bar K is a joyful and inclusive community for dog lovers and we’re so excited to be coming to OKC.”
Hensley noted that the space is not only a park for dogs, but it is meant to serve as a gathering place for dogs and humans alike. The space includes indoor and outdoor dog parks, a restaurant, bars and private events spaces.
The Bar K franchise has made a name for itself in previous locations like Kansas City, where it was awarded a “Cornerstone Award” in 2019 by the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, which recognizes standout construction, redevelopment, capital investment, job creation and expansion projects.
The dog park project is the first private development within the Boathouse District and was developed by a cohort of Greater Oklahoma City Chamber members: Rose Rock Development Partners, Pivot Project, Miller-Tippens Construction and Oklahoma State Bank.
Bar K offers annual and monthly memberships as well as day passes. Humans who visit without a dog can enter free of charge. Early Dog memberships can be purchased through the park’s opening day in February. Memberships purchased on the opening day and thereafter are subject to regular pricing.
