Community survey launched to help guide future of Downtown OKC

By Chamber Staff / Development / March 18, 2026

As Downtown Oklahoma City continues to see new investment, population growth and evolving development patterns, the City of Oklahoma City is inviting residents, workers and visitors to help shape the future of the urban core through a new community survey tied to the Downtown Oklahoma City Strategic Plan.

Community members are encouraged to complete the online survey by March 27 to help guide future development priorities.

The study area generally includes land bounded by the Oklahoma River to the south, Western Avenue to the west, NW 13th Street to the north and Interstates 235 and 35 to the east.

“Downtown has gained strong momentum in recent years through MAPS and other community investments,” said Justin Henry, program planner for the City of Oklahoma City. “Community feedback will help us better understand where the biggest opportunities and barriers exist.”

Led by the City, the 10-month planning process will develop an implementable vision to guide land-use decisions, public infrastructure investments and private development across Downtown and Bricktown. The plan will explore priorities such as improving connections between districts, expanding public spaces, supporting future residential growth and strengthening mobility options.

The strategic plan is intended to help ensure Downtown remains connected, accessible and positioned for continued growth.
