Inside Palomar's new $42 million headquarters taking shape in Oklahoma City

By Chamber Staff / Development / November 5, 2026

Construction is progressing on Palomar's new $42 million headquarters in Midtown Oklahoma City, a MAPS 4 investment designed to expand resources for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of abuse.

Located directly across Hudson Avenue from Palomar's existing facility, the approximately 73,000-square-foot, three-story building is expected to open in spring 2027. The expansion will allow the nonprofit to more than double its capacity to serve survivors.

Palomar operates as a family justice center, bringing together multiple agencies and service providers under one roof. The organization provides free, confidential assistance, connecting survivors with resources including counseling, legal services, medical care and advocacy.

Each floor of the new headquarters will serve a different purpose, with spaces designed to accommodate the needs of survivors, families and partner organizations.

The first floor will offer essential services in an environment designed to feel welcoming and comfortable. The second floor will house partner agencies, while the third floor will provide community gathering spaces, therapy rooms and outpatient services.

Among the building's features is a designated area for pets, recognizing that survivors fleeing abusive situations may need to bring their animals with them. The space reflects how the facility's design considers the practical challenges individuals and families face when seeking safety.

The headquarters will also include a children's sanctuary with dedicated play areas, private therapy rooms, a food pantry and medical examination spaces. A separate, secure entrance will allow survivors of sexual assault to access forensic examination services privately.

Palomar works with 45 partner organizations, including law enforcement, legal assistance providers and community service agencies. The additional space will allow those organizations to work alongside one another while providing expanded resources to survivors.

The project is part of MAPS 4, Oklahoma City's voter-approved capital improvement program. Construction began in May 2025, with completion anticipated in spring 2027.

Once open, the new headquarters will provide Palomar with additional space to support survivors and strengthen its network of community services.
