John Marshall Enterprise Middle School celebrates completion of major renovation

John Marshall Enterprise Middle School marked a new chapter for its campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of a major renovation project that includes a new main entrance, administration suite and library.
School leaders, district officials and project partners gathered with students and staff to recognize the collaborative effort that brought improvements to life. The project was funded through a 2022 Oklahoma City Public Schools bond issue, approved by voters to modernize facilities and enhance learning environments across the district.
Principal Jessica Robinson said the upgrades will have an immediate and lasting impact on students and staff.
“The new construction has provided an updated look and created a more functional space for our office staff and scholars,” Robinson said. “The library renovations have transformed this space into a more welcoming environment where scholars can fully engage in learning.”
The renovation was completed through close coordination between the school, OKCPS, Gardner Studios and Lingo Construction. Speakers highlighted regular communication and shared goals as key factors in delivering the project efficiently and successfully.
In addition to facility improvements, the event showcased student talent with performances from the school’s leadership class, music ensemble and dance company, reinforcing the school’s commitment to well-rounded student development.
OKCPS Board Chair Paula Lewis emphasized the importance of the renovated library as a space that empowers students.
“You can walk in with pride and then you can come and learn,” Lewis said. “One of the most important things there is to control your world is reading and the joy and the love of reading.”
The ceremony concluded with an official ribbon cutting, symbolizing both a promise kept to the community and a renewed investment in student-centered learning at John Marshall Enterprise Middle School.
