MAPS 4 to fund apartment homes for veterans experiencing homelessness

Veterans experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City will soon have access to new permanent housing options through a MAPS 4 investment in partnership with the Oklahoma City Housing Authority (OCHA).
The project, known as Dorset Place, will transform a former assisted living facility at Northwest 122nd Street and Dorset Drive into 70 units of supportive housing for veterans and their immediate family members. The property was acquired by OCHA’s nonprofit arm, the Community Enhancement Corporation, with the specific goal of creating permanent supportive housing.
The development will be completed in two phases. The first phase, expected to open in fall 2025, will include 37 units. The second phase will add another 33 units at a later date. The initiative is part of OKC’s broader strategy to reduce homelessness by increasing access to affordable housing and pairing it with wraparound support services.
Veterans at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness will be eligible to live at Dorset Place. Housing vouchers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), administered by OCHA and coordinated with OKC’s Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing office, will ensure that veteran households pay no more than 30% of their income for rent.
The Dorset Place project represents one of the first MAPS 4 Homelessness initiatives to move forward. It includes $1.5 million in MAPS 4 funding dedicated to addressing housing needs for vulnerable populations. In total, MAPS 4 sets aside more than $55 million for affordable housing, underscoring the program’s commitment to neighborhood and human needs.
By combining permanent housing with supportive services, Dorset Place is designed to provide stability and long-term solutions for those who served in the military and are now in need of a safe place to call home.
