McKesson breaks ground on $179 million Moore distribution center

Construction is underway on a major pharmaceutical distribution center in Moore, marking another milestone in the region's growing reputation as a hub for healthcare logistics and advanced industry. 

McKesson recently broke ground on a new $179 million, 330,000-square-foot regional distribution center in the North Moore Industrial Park. The facility will replace the company's existing Oklahoma distribution center with a highly automated operation designed to expand capacity and improve efficiency while supporting pharmacies, hospitals and healthcare providers throughout Oklahoma and the surrounding region.  

The investment is expected to support more than 200 jobs while strengthening the company's long-standing presence in Oklahoma, where McKesson has operated for more than 40 years. The new facility represents a long-term commitment to the region and will serve as a critical part of McKesson's nationwide distribution network.  

Gov. Kevin Stitt joined local, regional and state leaders for the groundbreaking, highlighting the project as an example of Oklahoma's continued success in attracting major employers through strategic investments and a business-friendly climate. McKesson selected Moore following a national site search that considered locations in Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma.  

McKesson distributes approximately one-third of the pharmaceuticals used in North America, supplying medications and healthcare products to providers across the country. During the groundbreaking, Gene Cavacini, president of U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution, said the company's mission is simple: ensuring patients receive the medications they need when and where they need them. He noted that the new Moore facility will help McKesson continue meeting that responsibility while serving thousands of healthcare locations each day.  

The project also represents years of collaboration among local, regional and state partners to prepare the site for investment. Leaders said the combination of infrastructure readiness, regional cooperation and long-term planning helped position Moore as the winning location for the Fortune 100 company's newest distribution center.  

Construction is expected to continue over the next several years before the facility begins operations.
