Celebrate manufacturing in October
October is Manufacturing Month and with more than 41,000 workers, manufacturing makes up around six percent of employment in Greater Oklahoma City. Manufacturing is a vital cog in the economic engine of our region.
Manufacturing Month is a celebration of modern manufacturing and is meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturing. With such a strong base in the region it is no surprise many companies in Oklahoma City are hosting events this month to celebrate and inspire. Read more about it here.
So as October rolls on be sure to remember the importance manufacturing plays in our community. The manufacturing sector helps drive innovation and in our city’s brief history has been the backbone of prosperity. From building automobiles and parts, airplanes and furniture in the early 1900s to oil and gas equipment, drones, plastics/metals, glass and other consumer and commercial products today, industrial and commercial manufactures have made Oklahoma City their home for more than 100 years.
