Chamber's Tele-Town Hall with Senator Inhofe covers federal, Tinker updates
Following previous calls on the new OKC Small Business Continuity Program and SBA/PPP loan options, the OKC public health situation, federal assistance and federal updates and legal & financial options, the Chamber continues its effort to keep members and OKC businesses informed about the resources available to them during this time. Senator Jim Inhofe joined us Wednesday morning for our latest call aimed at getting members and businesses information they need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Inhofe spoke on how the government is addressing the pandemic, and how our military, and specifically Tinker AFB, is being affected and working through the crisis. The Senator reported that Lt. Gen. Kirkland, Commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center, is ensuring the mission of Tinker while also keeping people safe.
Senator Inhofe also updated participants on the fact that the government had successfully worked with banks, who have now authorized overdraft protection in the amount of your COVID-19 stimulus check, and that 4,000 tests per day are possible in Oklahoma currently.

Senator Inhofe also reported that overseas talks were to be held tomorrow (Russia and Saudi Arabia) that could provide some relief to low oil prices. The Senator and his staff fielded questions on a variety of COVID-19-related topics from Chamber members on the call.
