As Oklahoma City’s economy continues to heal from the impacts of COVID-19, the Chamber, in partnership with The Alliance for Economic Development and the City of Oklahoma City, are contemplating another round of small business support programs similar to the Small Business Continuity Program and Minority-Owned Business Recovery Program. This next round of support would emphasize technical assistance and its role in setting Oklahoma City’s small businesses up for recovery and long-term success.
The Alliance for Economic Development is currently accepting proposals here for local businesses who can provide professional services in the following areas:
- Assisting businesses in establishing sound accounting and bookkeeping practices, maintenance of financial records, or tax preparation to set them up for future success. (Note: this does not include paying a client’s back taxes)
- Marketing and website development, and creation of marketing assets to help business owners promote their products and tell their story.
- Legal assistance, managing compliance, creation of relevant agreements and contracts, or help with HR and employment best practices.
- Strategy and operations consulting to increase profitability and improve business efficiency.
“This is a win-win situation for everyone involved,” said Jeff Seymour, executive vice president of economic development for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. “We have a plethora of local professionals who are experts on these needed topics. This program would give them an amazing chance to use their expertise to help small businesses in our community during this critical time in our economic recovery.”
Consultants will be paid for their work under this program and will play a critical role in ensuring recovery for many Oklahoma City small businesses. For questions about the RFP process, please contact Leana Dozier ([email protected]) or Evan Fay ([email protected]). All responses are due by 3 p.m. on May 7.
