Mint Turbines advances U.S. aerospace with new T700 Test Cell

By Chamber Staff / Economy / July 2, 2025

Mint Turbines announced the launch of its T700 Test Cell, providing faster, more cost-effective turbine testing for key industries. It is one of only four test cells globally and the only one in the U.S. outside GE approved for T700 engine testing.

"Our new T700 Test Cell revolutionizes the way restricted category/public use T700 engines are tested across the nation, offering faster results and unmatched reliability to mission-critical industries like firefighting and medical evacuation with improved availability," said David Norton, vice president and general manager of Mint Turbines. "This is a game changer for operators where downtime is not an option.”

The test cell allows North American customers to avoid overseas shipping, cutting costs and reducing downtime. With faster turnaround and advanced diagnostics, Mint Turbines supports continuous operation for firefighting, law enforcement and medical evacuation services.

Using modern testing systems, the facility replicates real operating conditions to optimize engine performance and reliability. Diagnostic tools help quickly identify and fix engine problems to maintain peak functionality.

Founded in 1981 and part of M International, Mint Turbines provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for gas turbine engines. Located in Stroud, the company operates from a 93,000-square-foot facility between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Mint Turbines holds FAA certifications for specialized test cells, including the Ozark T53 and Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engines. It also has EASA and U.K. approvals, meeting international quality and safety standards.
