New Welcome Guide available
As this city’s students are getting welcomed into new classrooms, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber wants to make sure new neighbors are getting welcomed into their hometown.
The 2019 Welcome Guide is now available and is packed with information for Oklahoma City’s newest residents. There are sections loaded with detail about the city’s history, neighborhoods, schools, climate and weather, the economy and, of course, what to do and where to go for fun.
All of us here at the Better Life HQ love the Welcome Guide. It is always fun to compile because it is a great reminder of how quickly the city has changed. The section about the streetcar went from “will open” to “opened.” There’s even a streetcar map in the guide so people can plan a trip using the system. The section about the Scissortail Park reads “open this year,” which is our favorite kind of update!
Other additions in this year’s guide include a section about Mustang Public Schools, one of the fastest-growing districts in the Greater Oklahoma City area. There is also information on the metro’s public golf courses and all the incredible programs and events operated by the Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation Department.
This year’s guide is extra special because it included plenty of links to the updated A Better Life OKC website. The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber relaunched the website in July with more-current content on the area’s neighborhoods, employers, schools, and things to do and see.
