Newcastle tops list of fastest-growing cities in the OKC region

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city of Newcastle ranks number one for the fastest-growing city in the Oklahoma City region over the past two years.
From 2020-2022, Newcastle's population grew by nearly 17% from 11,168 to 13,055, a difference of 1,887 residents. That was 4 percentage points higher than Goldsby, the number two city in the list, at 12.9% with a population growth of 351 residents in two years.
The city of Piedmont was right on the heels of Goldsby at 12.8% with a population growth of 959 residents. Rounding out the list were Mustang (10.5%), Tuttle (8.68%), El Reno (8.34%), Noble (7.5%), Yukon (7.4%), Union City (7.3%) and Blanchard (6.1%).
Not only was Newcastle the fastest-growing city in the OKC region between 2022 and 2022, but it was also the 42nd fastest-growing city in the nation among cities with a population of more than 10,000 people.
