Oct. 19 State Suppliers Expo presents opportunities for local businesses

The State of Oklahoma needs more suppliers from all industry sectors to help meet the needs of the state’s many state agencies. This need presents an excellent opportunity for Greater Oklahoma City Chamber members who may be interested in doing business with the state but lack the necessary knowledge of the state’s procurement process.

To help businesses across the metro and state grow their networks and build more connections with the State, the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services is sponsoring the State Suppliers Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 19, 2021, at the Oklahoma City Convention Center, 100 Mick Cornett Drive.

Businesses will get a chance to meet face to face with Oklahoma cabinet secretaries, agency directors and team members, who will help them learn more about business opportunities with the state.

Attendees can visit the Procurement Learning Center where they can make great contacts as well as

• Learn how to navigate the procurement system.
• Sign up for notification alerts with potential bidding opportunities.
• Sign up to be a preferred supplier with the state.

During this free, come-and-go event, attendees will be able to browse 15 cabinet-level booths, connect with state leaders and learn about top projects in each cabinet area.

OMES Director Steven Harpe, deputy secretary of digital transformation and administration, kicks off the expo with a live message at 10:30 a.m., followed by live or recorded messages each hour from several other state leaders, including Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell; Secretary of Human Services Justin Brown; Gov. Kevin Stitt; Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur; and Secretary of Transportation Tim Gatz.

“From the very start of his administration, Governor Stitt pushed for innovation and efficiency within state government,” said Harpe. “This expo provides more opportunities for private-sector companies to work alongside the State in our mission to deliver critical services. We are bridging the gap between our state government and Oklahoma suppliers to build better relationships.”
