OKC boasts the 10th-lowest unemployment rate in the U.S.

The latest employment data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics continued to show the strength of the Oklahoma City economy. For May, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of just 2.6%. This represents the 10th-lowest rate in the U.S. among metros with more than 1 million in population.
Statewide, the unemployment rate in all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties was lower than this time last year. Oklahoma had an unemployment rate of 2.8%. For comparison’s sake, the national average for the same time frame was 3.6%
