OKC boasts the lowest unemployment rate in the U.S.

Data continues to show strong resilience in the Oklahoma City MSA during the current pandemic. For September, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of 4.9% according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This was the lowest unemployment rate among metros of more than 1 million population.

The unemployment rate for Oklahoma City also represents a solid decline from August’s rate of 5.5%. Statewide, the unemployment rate also improved from the previous month dropping from 5.7% to 5.3%. On the national level, the unemployment rate was 7.9%.
