OKC has the No. 12 lowest unemployment rate in the U.S.

According to the latest data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of 4.3% for April. While this represents a slight uptick from March’s rate of 4.1%, OKC still has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country for metros with more than 1 million in population.

Statewide the economic outlook continues to improve as all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties had lower unemployment compared to April of last year. The state unemployment rate was also 4.3%. Nationally, the rate was 6%.
