By Marcus Elwell / Economy / November 23, 2018

For the month of September, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of 2.8 percent. This represents the lowest unemployment rate the metro has seen since January 2001. In August, Oklahoma City saw an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent.

Oklahoma City now has the sixth-lowest unemployment rate out of all the major metros in the United States. From a statewide perspective, all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties have lower unemployment rates than this time last year.

The statewide unemployment rate was 3.5 percent for the month, while the nationwide rate was 3.7 percent. Read more about the unemployment rate here.
