Oklahoma City boasts third-lowest unemployment rate in the country

Although the COVID-19 pandemic is still creating employment problems, there are starting to be signs that that Oklahoma City metro has been more resilient than most through the upheaval. For June, the Oklahoma City MSA had the third-lowest unemployment rate in the U.S. among major metros.
The metro saw an unemployment rate of 7%. This is a massive improvement from May’s rate of 12.9%
Big improvements were also seen on the county and state levels. Oklahoma County’s unemployment rate improved from 13.4% to 7.3%. Statewide the unemployment rate was 6.6%, down from 12.6% in May.
