A new study is highlighting Bricktown's pivotal role as a vibrant "live, work, and play" district. This study, conducted by The Thorberg Collectorate and led by Chief Economist Russell Evans, reveals Bricktown's staggering $1.4 billion impact. Oklahoma City's Bricktown Association, in collaboration with the City of Oklahoma City, commissioned the impact report.

"Bricktown is situated on the brink of significant investments happening within and adjacent to the district," said Bricktown District Manager Justin O'Neal. "Through this study, we aimed to demonstrate Bricktown’s contribution to the success of Oklahoma City as we prepare for the future."

Bricktown, the focus of the original MAPS investment program, has emerged as a residential hub, commercial center and recreational destination. The district boasts an impressive selection of hotels, restaurants and entertainment options. Annually, almost 1.8 million Bricktown visitors spend more than $175 million in the local economy.

The report found that Bricktown directly or indirectly supports 9,485 jobs, $501 million in labor income and $1.4 billion in the local production of goods and services.

What makes Bricktown truly unique is its dynamic history of reinvention. Evolving from an industrial warehouse district into a thriving entertainment hub, Bricktown stands as Oklahoma City's original "district." It was the first area to offer a variety of experiences within walking distance, providing a distinct sense of place for residents and visitors alike.

"Bricktown is a vital part of Oklahoma City's economy, and this data emphasizes its multifaceted impact, allowing us to advocate for further investment and development from the community," stated Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership President and CEO Jennifer Nakayama.

The authors of the study noted the benefits of Bricktown’s focus on fostering dynamic and ever-evolving public spaces that promote arts, culture and creativity. These efforts have made Bricktown an attractive destination, with its historic charm, vibrant entertainment district, scenic waterfront, iconic landmarks and family-friendly attractions. By creating quality places that constantly reinvent themselves and by capitalizing on its economic geography, Bricktown has successfully positioned itself as a desirable location for people to live, work, play and learn.
