Chamber Forum Sept. 16 to highlight medical marijuana industry issues

On June 26, 2018, Oklahoma voters approved State Question 788, which legalized medical marijuana use in the state of Oklahoma. Today, Oklahoma has more than 9,300 active medical marijuana business licenses and nearly 330,000 active patient licenses.

At the September Chamber Forum, to be held virtually Wednesday, Sept. 16, hear from industry experts on the growth of the industry, the legal challenges experienced by business owners and the obstacles faced by the banking industry when working with medical marijuana dispensaries.

Scheduled panelists include Kelly Williams, PhD, interim director of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, Eric Fisher of Crowe & Dunlevy, who will discuss legal challenges in the industry and employer concerns, and Keri Cain, director of special programs at Regent Bank.
