Economic development conference to shine light on Oklahoma’s growth, innovation

A conference focusing on Oklahoma’s economic growth and innovation will be held Aug. 28 and 29 at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City.
The Select Oklahoma Conference on Economic Development will gather the state’s business and industry leaders, economic development professionals and policymakers to provide a place to network, share knowledge and have collaborative discussions.
A mix of keynote, breakout sessions and networking sessions will cover a range of topics vital to the state’s economic and community development. Participants will learn about:
- The tools, strategies and solutions that could help Oklahoma’s economy continue to grow.
- Funding opportunities and incentives at the state and federal level.
- Business retention and expansion strategies in rural areas.
- Updates on TIF, training and suburban economic development.
- How communities are addressing the housing issue.
Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell will give opening remarks alongside Dennis Alvord, deputy assistant secretary for economic development and chief operating officer of the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
Alysia Cook, principal of Opportunity Strategies LLC, will discuss economic and workforce development trends as part of her keynote address.
