State of the Economy to feature economic forecaster Marci Rossell

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber's 2020 State of the Economy will be in an online format that will allow participants to view the event from the convenience of their home or work on Nov. 19.

Attendees will hear directly from expert economists on trends in the local and national economy. The event includes a panel of local economists and Marci Rossell as the keynote speaker.

Marci Rossell is an expert economic forecaster and former chief economist for CNBC and co-host of Squawk Box. Rossell will discuss the impact of seismic surprises such as environmental disasters, swings in the regulatory regime and epidemics such as the coronavirus. Rossell is an expert separating fact from fiction of the potential impact as she carefully analyzes past events to predict economic effects, such as postponed spending and a decreased value of retirement savings.

She highlights that this outbreak is symptomatic of a larger trend: that businesses today face a variety of seismic surprises. Cyberterrorism, environmental disasters, swings in the regulatory regime, and, yes, epidemics like COVID-19 can all impact interest rates, yield curve, and profitability of financial institutions - and Marci shares her expert insights on how business can plan for unforeseen events today and in the future.
