The science behind brewing
For the past eight years, Brewfest has been a great place to showcase the state’s burgeoning brewery scene. However, Brewfest is more than just a great chance to sample the best beers, wines and spirits in Oklahoma.
Brewfest serves a fundraiser for the Oklahoma Bioscience Association and also aims to raise awareness of Oklahoma’s diverse bioscience industry.
The 8th annual Brewfest will be held Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Admission is $35 and comes with a free mug to sample the most popular breweries, wineries and distilleries in the state. The first 300 guests will also get a free t-shirt.
It is safe to say Brewfest’s growth has followed the dynamic surge of craft breweries in the state. During the first couple of years, Brewfest would draw 10 to 11 breweries. This year’s event will draw nearly 30 breweries, wineries and distilleries.
One of the best aspects of Brewfest is that attendance is limited to 500. That means you have plenty of face-to-face opportunities with the people who are making the great beers and spirits in Oklahoma. You can pick their brains on their process, what is on the horizon or even what foods they think their beers pair best with.
