Tinker 'Star Spangled Salute' air show and open house takes off June 1-2
Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday June 1 and 2 for the Star Spangled Salute air & space show at Tinker Air Force Base. In addition to an appearance by the Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron, the event features an F-16 Viper demo, parachute demonstration courtesy of the USAF Wings of Blue, heritage flights by a P-51 Mustang(!) and A-1 Skyraider, Vietnam Combat Search and Rescue demo, Randy Ball in a MiG-17F, the Jelly Belly Piper Cub, Dell Coller Jack Links Bi-plane aerobatics and more!
Children and families will also be interested in the free STEM CITY Hangar, which will feature hands-on STEM activities like robotics, drones and Tinker AFB displays. In addition, Kid Zone wristbands will be available for $15 which will allow kids to enjoy inflatables and other activities in said zone.
