Though the physical additions are significant in elevating our city’s airport to meet the growing needs of our residents and visitors, the airport’s new flight offerings are arguably just as exciting and important.

Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport becomes increasingly connected with nonstop flights to 27 cities across the nation. As of today, you can now fly direct to New York’s LaGuardia Airport on American Airlines. This new flight makes it possible to travel to New York in the morning, see a play on Broadway, meet with friends or business leaders, have a nice dinner, and make it back to the sooner state in time for bed—it would be a whirlwind of a day, but a good one at that!

In addition to this brand-new nonstop service, American Airlines also has daily departures from Oklahoma City to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Chicago, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington, D.C, and the flight to Austin, TX, which began last month.

“American is eager to connect Oklahoma City with Austin and New York-La Guardia with new nonstop service,” said Brian Znotins, American Airlines Vice President of Network Planning. “With these additions, American offers more nonstop flights from Oklahoma City than any other airline, and they’re in direct response to customer demand in all three regions. Whether our customers are traveling for business or reconnecting with family and friends, we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

The flight will utilize the Embraer 175 (E-175) aircraft and will offer two classes of service. It will depart at 6:00 a.m. and with a 3 hour and 12-minute expected travel time, passengers will arrive in New York by 10:12 a.m. EST. The nonstop return flight leaves from LaGuardia at 8:05 p.m. and arrives back in Oklahoma City by 11:00 p.m.

Just in time for the holiday season, this new flight offers the perfect excuse to take or gift a short trip to the Big Apple. Flights are on sale now at aa.com
