Andretti Indoor Karting & Games to open in Oklahoma City Spring 2025

Described as entertainment for the entire family, Andretti Karting features indoor electric go-karts and the newest augmented reality games, retro classics and other favorites. An onsite restaurant offers burgers, salads, pizza and more from a 95% scratch kitchen, along with a full bar. “There is a wow factor when you walk into Andretti Karting, it is not a typical experience, it is definitely upscale,” Hamann said.
The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber has had its eye on Andretti Karting for some time. “We have been trying to attract them to Oklahoma City for years,” said Tammy Fate, Director of Retail Development and Recruitment. “It’s a fabulous concept that will thrive in our market.”
Plans for Oklahoma City’s Andretti Karting began in 2019 and though Covid slowed the process down, progress on the $42 million, 100,000-square-foot facility is well underway. “We have broken ground at The Half and plan to be open by Spring 2025, it will be a beautiful facility,” adds Hamann. He said the similar businesses located at The Half were a deciding factor in the location. “We believe in synergy and the businesses located there attract the same type of customer.”
There are many things that Hamann feels set Andretti Karting apart from just a typical go-kart track. First and foremost is the legacy of the Andretti family. Hamann was close friends with the late John Andretti which led to the partnership. He is also proud of the way they attract and retain employees. “Our training is extensive. We invest in our employees, we treat them well, and we are disciplined with them,” he said. “I also consider our employees as our number one customer. The experience people have when they walk into Andretti Karting begins with our employees.” And the desire to work for the company is evident. Hamann said the Grand Prairie, Texas location, opening July 10, had 3300 people show up for 350 jobs.
Giving back is a big part of the mission of Andretti Karting. They partner with the CheckIt4Andretti Foundation which focuses on the prevention and the early detection of colorectal cancer. John Andretti passed away from the disease in 2020.
Probably the most important thing to Hamann is the strong faith upon which Andretti Karting is built. “I see our business as a ministry more than a go-kart track. You can buy all the things to make a business but you can’t buy time, love and appreciation and we all have that and more. We are second to none.”
