City of OKC hosts open house discussions on MAPS 4 projects

By Erick Perry / Inside OKC / February 7, 2023

A series of open house discussions on upcoming MAPS 4 projects will continue to be held throughout February, gathering input on EMBARK Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and MAPS 4 Neighborhood and Community Parks.

Residents are invited to attend and share ideas on improvements to 105 of the city’s community and neighborhood parks. The improvements are being planned as part of the MAPS 4 Parks initiative which was allotted $70 million for upgrades, city-wide.

BRT corridors in south and northeast Oklahoma City will also be a subject of discussion. MAPS 4 includes a budget of $61 million for the development of two additional BRT corridors, allowing for high-quality, bus-based transit service similar to a rail service to become available in underserved areas.
