The ninth annual Lights On Broadway will return to Oklahoma City from 4-7 p.m. on three upcoming Saturdays: November 30 and December 7 and 14.
Showcased by nonprofit organizations Automobile Alley Association and Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership, Lights On Broadway is part of the larger Downtown in December celebration presented by Devon.
During this specific holiday event, Automobile Alley will transform into a winter wonderland, with over 600,000 colorful LED lights adorning the buildings along North Broadway and surrounding streets. The light displays will remain through January 3, so guests are encouraged to take photos in front of dazzling light curtains and larger-than-life holiday ornaments.
Retail shops and restaurants will host family-friendly activities, offer special promotions and feature giveaways during Lights On Broadway in order to celebrate the holiday season. Participating businesses for all three days include Cargo Room, Good Earth Rocks, Johnny and June, Junction Coffee, Katiebug’s Sips & Sweets, Oklahoma Shirt Company, The Floating Bookshop and many more.
With sponsorship from OG&E, attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa on their personal camera each Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation parking lot west of Factory Obscura. Santa will be nestled in his 1929 Mercedes Benz as a nod to Automobile Alley’s rich automotive heritage.
Each Lights On Broadway event will also feature performances by Teensie the Magic Elf from Inspyral Circus, free caricatures, face painting, live music, balloon artists and the Visit OKC mobile visitor center. Each Saturday, the event will feature special programming, adding a unique touch to the day.
On Saturday, November 30, attendees can enjoy OKC Thunder Bolt and the OKC Thunder Drummers from 4-5 p.m., the Mistletones in partnership with Arts Council’s Art Moves from 4-6 p.m. and the Bublee Pop Life-Size Snow Globe & Photo Booth.
The following Saturday, December 7, brings a Dog Holiday Costume Contest hosted by Oklahoma Contemporary, with event check-in at 4 p.m. on the north lawn. The Oklahoma Contemporary café will have pup cups, as well as other snacks for owners.
Prizes include:
- First Place: an exclusive “Dog Mayor of Automobile Alley” bandana and a 15-day daycare gift card from 9th Street Barking Lot
- Second Place: an Auto Alley Dog bandana and a 10-day daycare gift card from 9th Street Barking Lot
- Third Place: an Auto Alley Dog bandana and a 5-day daycare gift card from 9th Street Barking Lot
Along with the contest, the day will also include musical performances by the Vocal Sounds of Oklahoma, St. Paul’s Choir Strolling Carolers and the 395th Army Band.
On December 14, visitors can enjoy performances from the Salvation Army Brass Band and the Jimmy Dale Richardson Band’s Rockin’ Christmas Show.
The Oklahoma City Streetcar is also getting into the festive spirit by offering free rides on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through January 5. On November 30, visitors can meet the EMBARK team and enjoy free swag and refreshments.
Lights On Broadway is a vibrant and festive highlight of the holiday season in Oklahoma City. Featuring stunning light displays, live performances, family-friendly activities and unique events, this highly anticipated event will bring the community together this holiday season.
