Express Employment International $27,000 grant boosts Greater OKC Chamber nonprofits

The Greater OKC Chamber recently received a $27,000 grant from Express Employment International, enabling a select group of nonprofits to elevate their Chamber membership to the Board of Advisors level for one year. This marks the third consecutive year that the Chamber has been a beneficiary of this grant, presenting the nonprofits valuable opportunities for networking, connection and growth. 

Previous recipients of the grant have lauded its impact. Brittany Carter-Thomas, executive director of Freedom City Inc., shared her experience, stating, "This has been a transformative experience, opening doors to a realm of opportunities that have significantly enriched our organizational landscape." 

Reflecting on the Chamber's commitment to fostering meaningful connections, Carter-Thomas added, "The Chamber provided a dynamic platform for networking that transcends traditional boundaries. We connected with various businesses that are now corporate sponsors, potential volunteers and individual donors. It also facilitated renewed connections with foundation partners." 

Whitney Cross, director of development and communications, expressed her gratitude, saying, "The OKC Chamber membership grant from Express Employment International introduced me to the amazing things our Chamber does and connected me with many business leaders in our community." She highlighted Express Employment International's forward-thinking approach in recognizing the value of integrating nonprofit organizations with businesses through the Chamber. 

"We are very grateful for their continued support of this endeavor," Cross added, emphasizing the positive impact of the grant on connecting nonprofit organizations with the broader business community. 

The Chamber plans to announce seven new recipients by the end of this month to continue sharing the opportunities for nonprofits as they continue their membership and engagement within the OKC community.
