Final week to participate in ‘Name the Team!’ campaign for OKC’s professional soccer club

OKC for Soccer | OKC es Fútbol, the initiative for reimagining professional soccer in Oklahoma City, launched its “Name the Team!” campaign to give fans a central role in shaping the identity of the club.
The movement behind Oklahoma City’s professional soccer revival is led by Echo, a multi-strategy investment firm and the majority owner of the city’s professional soccer club. Echo has unveiled a brand review process and confirmed plans to introduce a women’s team alongside the men’s squad, with the entire process guided by input from the local community to ensure the brand
authentically reflects Oklahoma City.
This week marks the final opportunity to participate in the “Name the Team!” survey, where fans can submit name and color suggestions for Oklahoma City’s professional men’s soccer team, who are set to begin playing in 2027. The campaign also includes listening sessions and an online vote to determine the top names from fan submissions.
“It’s such a rare opportunity to name a professional sports team, and we can’t wait to see what fans come up with,” said President of OKC for Soccer Court Jeske. “We always want the club to reflect and represent our ambitious city. Getting the team name and colors right is integral to that commitment. We know the Oklahoma City community is full of creativity and local pride, and we can’t wait to see it revealed throughout this process.”
To further elevate the branding effort, OKC for Soccer has partnered with Matthew Wolff, a globally renowned designer known for his work in sports brand identity.
“As we build a club that reflects the vibrant and ambitious city that Oklahoma City is today, we want to work with people and organizations that can help elevate what we’re doing for fans both citywide and around the world,” Jeske said. “Matthew Wolff’s work speaks for itself: it’s iconic, globally respected and designed to resonate for decades. We are thrilled to have Matthew on board to help create a brand identity that will reflect our club and represent Oklahoma City.”
Wolff and OKC for Soccer will work together to design a new crest and color scheme for the men’s team, bringing a fresh and vibrant visual identity to the club.
“My goal is always to create an identity that’s long lasting and that properly reflects the community,” said Wolff. “The OKC for Soccer project is unique, and I’m looking forward to helping the club create a visual identity for the men’s team that really resonates with people in Oklahoma City and beyond.”
Wolff earned recognition in the soccer design space during his work with Nike, where he designed over 400 apparel pieces, including universally celebrated World Cup kit collections for the French and Nigerian national teams. He later designed the first collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan Brand.
In addition to his soccer work, Wolff has created visual identities for Major League Soccer’s LAFC and Chicago Fire, NWSL clubs NJ/NY Gotham FC, Racing Louisville and San Diego Wave, as well as numerous USL teams. He is also a co-founder of Vermont Green FC. Beyond soccer, Wolff has led branding projects for MLB’s Minnesota Twins, the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, TGL’s LA Golf Club and the esports brand 100 Thieves, among others.
The survey will close on Friday, January 31, at 11:59 p.m. CT. Fans can contribute their ideas and have a direct impact on the future branding of OKC for Soccer by filling out the survey.
