Oklahoma State University’s (OSU) Greenwood School of Music has been recognized as a top music business school by Billboard in what the site credits as its “most geographically diverse list to date.”

The Greenwood School of Music offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in music, music composition, jazz performance, music education, music performance and the music industry. The school’s music industry degree was recognized by Billboard, specifically, for its commitment to educating students on the business of music.

OSU also has ties to music industry standouts, such as Garth Brooks. The country music star recently held a mentorship series for the university’s students.

Music industry majors can earn a master’s degree in business administration through the university’s Spears School of Business accelerated MBA program. Graduate degrees in applied music and conducting are available through the Greenwood School of Music.

Poke U is included in the Greenwood School of Music, as well. The student-operated company incorporates a record label, music publisher, concert promotion and musical products division.

The New York Philharmonic works with OSU’s McKnight Center for the Performing Arts to benefit local schools with regular orchestra performances as part of a three-year residency.

Billboard selects its top music business schools based on industry insights and information provided by the site’s “power list” honorees. The site listed Abbey Road Institute in London, Howard University in Washington D.C., the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music alongside OSU’s Greenwood School of Music as some of the best institutions for learning the music business.
