Guthrie makes Southern Living’s list of the top 10 small towns in the South

The state’s former capital is a charming place to visit, and we’re not the only ones who think so! Southern Living took notice and chose to highlight the town’s historic beauty and local attractions in a recent list of the South’s best small towns.

The article claims, “The anatomy of a perfect Southern small town doesn’t come in just one idyllic shape or size, nor does it ever look or act in quite the same way.” Indeed, Guthrie made the list by virtue of its own unique qualities.

Guthrie offers “the largest contiguous Historic Preservation District in the nation,” according to Southern Living. It’s a great place to visit for those who love history and are interested in getting nostalgic as they take in the Victorian beauty of the town’s well-preserved architecture.

Offering a selection of activities to enjoy for people of all ages and interests, the short trip from OKC would be well worth making a day or evening out of!
