The Oklahoma City Baseball Club, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and a fixture of Triple-A baseball since 1962, is set to unveil its new name and brand identity during a vibrant community celebration this Saturday from 5-10 p.m. at the team’s home field, Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

At the beginning of the 2024 season, team officials announced the team’s identity would undergo a transformation for the 2025 season. After a year under the interim name, the OKC Baseball Club has worked diligently over the past two years to develop a brand that reflects the rich culture and spirit of the Oklahoma community.

The selection process involved extensive input from focus groups, fans, social media audiences and internal brainstorming sessions. Despite the change, the team will remain an affiliate of the LA Dodgers through at least 2030, as outlined under the current Professional Development League license.

“We’ve worked on the name and brand identity selection process for the past two years, gathering input through focus groups, fans, our social media audiences and internal brainstorming. In deciding on the name and brand, we wanted something that would be uniquely ours and reflect our strong ties to the Oklahoma community,” said Oklahoma City Baseball Club President/General Manager Michael Byrnes. “We’re planning a big announcement celebration on October 26 and welcome everyone to share in the excitement of our new brand.”

The event will kick off at 5 p.m. on Mickey Mantle Plaza along S. Mickey Mantle Drive, where guests will be welcomed into a vibrant atmosphere featuring a DJ, carnival games and concessions.

The ballpark gates will open at 6 p.m., allowing attendees to enjoy additional activities throughout the facilities. At 7 p.m., the team will hold a brief ceremony to reveal its new name, logos, uniforms and mascot. The celebration will conclude with a drone show and a fireworks display to celebrate the new team identity.

After the ceremony, fans are invited to the unveiling of a stunning 20-by-20-foot mural that will be behind Homeplate. The mural was created specifically for the team by Oklahoma City artist Barrett Tarr.

The event will also offer exclusive clubhouse and locker room tours, giving attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s operations. In addition, the Team Store and other merchandise areas will open immediately after the ceremony, providing fans the chance to be among the first to purchase newly branded merchandise.
