OKC sees record growth in air travel at Will Rogers International Airport

2024 was a record-breaking year for Oklahoma City, marked by growth across various sectors, including air travel. Will Rogers International Airport saw its highest-ever passenger traffic, with over 4.6 million passengers traveling through the facility.
A total of 4,602,573 passengers passed through the airport last year, marking a 4.6% increase—an additional 202,524 travelers—compared to 2023. Jeff Mulder, director of airports, highlighted the significance of this growth.
“Our growing community and strong economy continue to be reflected in our airline passenger numbers,” said Mulder.
Several air service enhancements contributed to the increase, including United Airlines’ increased flights to Chicago and Houston; Frontier Airlines’ added routes to Las Vegas and Denver; Southwest’s expanded service to Nashville, Orlando and Las Vegas; and American Airlines’ increased service to Charlotte, Dallas and seasonal Miami flights.
In addition, the airport’s transition from Will Rogers World Airport to Will Rogers International Airport is a broader shift toward an international identity, reflecting Oklahoma City’s expanding global presence. This rebranding accompanies significant upgrades to the airport, including expanded terminal facilities and modernized amenities, aimed at improving the traveler’s experience.
With consistent enhancements and a renewed focus on global transportation, Will Rogers International Airport is set for further success in 2025.
