OKCPS Candidate Forum to be held March 30 via Zoom

By Staff Reports / Inside OKC / March 29, 2021

The OKCPS Board of Education plays an integral role in ensuring Oklahoma City’s schools provide our students the instruction and resources they need to lay the foundation for their bright futures. As important as the board’s function is, board members' elections are often overlooked - in February, less than 5,000 of 139,206 eligible voters participated, resulting in the upcoming runoff election on April 6.

Meet the Candidates

The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools wants to help you get to know the candidates so you can feel confident you’re voting for the platform that most closely aligns with your priorities and values. That’s why they’re hosting a virtual town hall via Zoom on March 30, during which you’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates and learn about their positions on the school district’s most pressing issues.

We hope you’ll join the virtual event from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30. Mark your calendars and click the link below to join the event.

Make Your Voice Heard

By voting in the April 6 election, you’ll have the opportunity to make your voice heard and impact the direction of the school board for years to come - board members serve four-year terms and oversee a $685 million budget. Not only do their decisions affect our students, but they also play a vital role in sustaining our city’s economic growth.

Now’s the time to make your plan to vote. Verify your polling place and confirm you’re eligible to participate in this election.
