Oklahoma City is ranked best-run city with a population over 500,000 for the second year in a row

In some ways, running a city is similar to running a marathon: It’s really difficult and never as easy as professionals might make it look. But despite the hardship, Oklahoma City leaders have successfully made Oklahoma City not just a functional and profitable city, but a fun city that residents love to live in. And now, the rest of the country is starting to see that!

Based on weighing six key factors (financial stability, education, infrastructure and pollution, health, safety, and economy) and an overall “quality of city services” score (based on its weighted average across all the other metrics), WalletHub pitted the 150 most populated US cities against each other to determine the best-run cities in the US. Ultimately, Oklahoma City was ranked the 10th overall best-run city and, for the second year in a row, the #1 best-run large city (with a population over 500,000).

The biggest factors that helped OKC achieve this were financial stability, education and economy—financial stability especially, which ranked at 8th-best overall.
