The foundation of our economy
As president and CEO of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, I spend much of my time talking about all of the great things that are going on in the region. To be fair, there is a long list of positive options from which to choose: new companies and retail options coming to the market, ongoing improvements to our roads and highways and significant progress on quality-of-life projects throughout the community to name a few.
The things that Greater Oklahoma City residents are fortunate enough to brag upon today would not be possible without the continued growth of the region’s existing businesses. Existing businesses are central to the region’s economic health, significant not only in terms of employment, but also in community impact. These companies are improving our communities, investing in our schools, donating time and money to our charitable organizations and more. And they also represent something that is deeply embedded in our community’s collective identity: the entrepreneurial spirit that continues to propel our region forward.
The community we all enjoy today would not be possible without the ongoing success of the region’s existing businesses. You are the foundation of our economy, and your contributions continue to make this a better place to live, work and play.
