2025 Veterans Day events in the Greater OKC area

Veterans have played an essential role in shaping Oklahoma City, protecting our freedoms and strengthening our communities. This Veterans Day, organizations across the Greater OKC area are hosting events to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. military. From parades to 5Ks, memorial ceremonies to museum exhibits, these gatherings provide opportunities for residents to recognize and celebrate the sacrifices of our veterans and active-duty service members.
Blanchard Veterans Day Parade
The Blanchard Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, along Main Street in Blanchard, honors U.S. military veterans through a procession that includes high school marching bands, cheer squads, honor guards and Shriners units. Residents are encouraged to watch along the parade route and join in the community celebration.
Veterans Day 5K
The third annual Veterans Day 5K will take place on Nov. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Mitch Park (1501 W. Covell Rd., Edmond). The event offers a one-mile run/walk, a 5K and a virtual race. All proceeds benefit the Travis Manion Foundation. Participants receive a shirt, medal, and race swag.

Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony
The Veterans Parade and Memorial Ceremony in Norman will take place Nov. 9, with the parade beginning at 2 p.m. at Reaves Park, followed by the memorial ceremony from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Organized by the Veterans Committee, the event honors military service members and their contributions to the community.
Canadian County Veterans Parade and Program
Canadian County will host its annual Veterans Parade and Program at 110 S. Bickford Ave. in El Reno on Nov. 9 from 2 to 5 p.m., beginning downtown and concluding at the Historic Centre Theatre. The event includes a parade featuring the restored 1924 Heritage Express Trolley, the El Reno Cruisers and local community groups, offering residents an opportunity to celebrate both past and present service members.
Midwest City Veterans Day Parade
Midwest City will hold its Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. along Douglas Boulevard from SE 15th Street to Reno Avenue. Families and community members are invited to watch patriotic floats, live entertainment and a flyover honoring veterans for their service.
Moore Veterans Day Ceremony
Moore will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 1900 SE 4th St., providing residents an opportunity to honor all military service members.
Edmond Veterans Celebration
Edmond History Museum will host the city’s fifth annual Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 11 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Stephenson Park Pavilion (431 S. Blvd., Edmond). The event will feature speakers, performances of the national anthem by an octet and children’s choir, and veteran-related booths.
Speakers include Capt. David Gardner, USN; Lt. Col. (Ret.) Greg Kent, USAF; Jessica Timmerman, Final Salute; and Mayor Mark Nash. The National Anthem will be sung by the Edmond Community Chorale, and Edmond North Junior ROTC will present colors. Retired Col. Mustafa “Kujo” Koprucu, chairman of the Edmond Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee, will lead the event, supported by the City of Edmond, Downtown Edmond Business Association and community partners.
The event will be held outdoors, with the museum as a backup in case of rain.
Veterans @ FAM
Veterans @ FAM at the First Americans Museum on Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., invites enrolled members of Oklahoma tribes who are veterans or active military to participate in a searchable database honoring their service. Families may submit materials on behalf of veterans, which will be included in the museum’s OKLA HOMMA exhibition.
To create a record, participants should:
- Bring up to four photos, with at least one required
- Bring up to four documents, such as letters or commendation certificates
- Sign a permission form allowing the museum to use the records (available at the event)
Digital copies of all scanned items will be provided to participants, and optional portrait photography is available for veterans or active service members in uniform or cultural regalia.

Veterans have shaped OKC in countless ways, and these events allow the community to publicly recognize their dedication and sacrifice. By attending parades, ceremonies, runs and museum events, residents of all ages can show gratitude for the men and women who have served and continue to serve. Observing Veterans Day together strengthens the bonds within our community while honoring those who have protected our freedoms.
