Better know the Wheeler District

Located on the south bank of the Oklahoma River, the Wheeler District is designed around the idea of being walkable and bikeable. Construction on the district began in 2018 at the site of the old downtown airpark. The design of the district is modeled after urban neighborhoods you might see in Boston, Chicago and even Oklahoma City’s own Mesta Park.
Besides a wide range of newly constructed homes, the main attraction of the Wheeler District is the Wheeler Ferris Wheel. Rescued from the Santa Monica Pier, the Ferris Wheel became an instant landmark near downtown. The giant OKC display is also a local hotspot to take a great picture.
In addition to housing and the Ferris Wheel, the district is home to a growing array of businesses where you can find great tacos, coffee, a taproom and so much more. Be sure to follow the district on social media or check out its events page to keep up with all the awesome events that take place in its public park. You can routinely find farmers markets, weekly bike rides, yoga and more happening in the Wheeler District.
