Cool off this summer at OKC-area water parks and spraygrounds

We’re just at the beginning of summer and soon we’ll all be looking for a place to cool off, relax and let the kids play in the water. The Oklahoma City metro has plenty of options to choose from all over the city, so there’s one likely to be just down the street from you.
If you’re looking for an all-day adventure, consider checking out Six Flags Hurricane Harbor OKC, Wake Zone or Pelican Bay Aquatic Center in Edmond. Hurricane Harbor single-day tickets start at $29.99 but there are season ticket options available if it’s a family favorite spot.
Only have time for just a few hours of fun? There are plenty of free spraygrounds in the city for a quick visit. Scissortail Park’s Sprayground is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. Myriad Botanical Gardens has two water areas: Thunder Fountain and the Plaza Water Feature, both of which opened over the weekend.
The City of OKC Parks and Recreation Department also maintains free spraygrounds which are open daily 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 29 through Sept. 30:
