deadCenter Film Festival starts this week

By Nate Fisher / Lifestyle / June 4, 2019

Nothing symbolizes the arrival of summer in OKC quite like the opening of the deadCenter film festival. The festival, named one of the 20 coolest film festivals in the world according to MovieMaker Magazine, is Oklahoma’s largest and hosted 33,000 attendees last year, making an economic impact of $5.3 million on OKC. The schedule starts June 6 and you can get more info on the films, parties and other cool stuff associated with what’s going on with the festival here. Now that you know about the festival and want to attend, find out about pass options and some of the special screenings that have been announced over on deadcenterfilm.org.

One cool thing TBL staff like to do is attend the free outdoor screenings at the Myriad Gardens Great Lawn. This year, the festival will be screening Growing Up George, an animated short about OKC Thunder All-Star Paul George on Saturday, June 8 at 9 p.m.
