We are inching ever closer to spring being sprung and that means one thing … Spring Break! While a lot of families use the school break to get out of town for a bit, we feel like it is an amazing time to check out all Oklahoma City has to offer. Whether you are a new transplant to the 405 or a lifelong resident, it might be time to discover, or rediscover, all OKC has to offer. Here are some cannot-miss places to visit:

  • Oklahoma City Thunder With eight home games in March, it is the perfect time to catch the good guys as they push for the playoffs.
  • First Americans Museum Deepen your understanding of our nation’s history and the people who first inhabited it at the First Americans Museum. Visitors learn about the histories of 39 distinctive First American Nations in Oklahoma through the FAM galleries and exhibitions.
  • Oklahoma Contemporary As an always-free entertainment option, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center is a fantastic spot to bring groups of all sizes and ages to enjoy cutting-edge work in their gallery spaces. Check out their Spring Break camps for fun and challenging studio experiences.
  • Adventure District Home to the Oklahoma City Zoo, Science Museum Oklahoma, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and so much more, you can spend a week in this Oklahoma City district and not see everything.
  • RIVERSPORT Let the countdown begin as RIVERSPORT opens for Spring Break, March 11 through 19. Land adventures and flatwater paddling will be open daily during Spring Break.
  • Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum Have a conversation with your family about justice and peacemaking through a visit to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. The tragedy that happened in 1995 shaped our city and changed our world. The museum tells the story in a thought-provoking and hopeful way, and is an important place to visit if you are an OKC resident.
  • Scissortail Park One of the easiest places to enjoy a nice Oklahoma day is with a visit to Scissortail Park. Bring a picnic to the playground, grab a bite to eat at SPARK or choose a date when your favorite food truck is parked along Robinson. The park is a beautiful place to go for a walk or simply enjoy time outside.
  • Oklahoma Museum of Art You will not be disappointed with the quality and quantity of work at the OKCMOA, which features one of the largest collections of his Chihuly glass in the world.
