Enjoy the outdoors at Martin Park Nature Center’s highly accessible facility

If you’re looking for a place to explore the outdoors without traveling outside of the city limits, check out Martin Park Nature Center. This park provides guided hikes, education programs, and an interactive learning center for visitors to learn more about nature and wildlife in Oklahoma.
In addition to the 2.4 miles of trails, nature-themed playground, picnic pavilion, and nature learning library, the park offers amenities in order to provide greater accessibility to individuals of all ability levels.
The ADA Accessible INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Courage Trail, added in 2015, offers individuals with disabilities and mobility limitations the opportunity to explore some of the park’s woodlands. It is a wheelchair accessible half-mile trail with wayfinding signage for individuals who are hard of hearing or blind. The trail even includes a wheelchair-accessible treehouse—sounds like a dream come true!
In addition to the wonderful activities that can be enjoyed year-round, on Saturday, October 2 at 8 a.m., the park will host their second-ever adventure run. The event includes several obstacles to satisfy even the most adventurous spirit like kayaking, archery, log jumping, and more.
During the summer months (April 1- Sept. 30) the park is open from 5:00 a.m. until 9 p.m., during the remainder of the year, the park’s hours are 5:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Visitor’s Center is closed on Mondays and on designated Oklahoma City holidays but is open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. otherwise.
