Foodie Fest of OKC comes to Scissortail Park

Downtown Oklahoma City’s recently completed Scissortail Park will host Foodie Fest of OKC on October 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The free event, organized by OKC Black Eats, will feature live music and entertainment, along with more than 50 food and retail vendors to coincide with the park’s farmer’s market.
Foodie Fest of OKC was originally branded as The Black Foodie Summit before rebranding in 2020 to open the event up to more inclusivity. The showcase now includes culinary cuisines from across the globe, helping drive traffic to Oklahoma City’s varying, locally owned establishments.
The festival aims to become Oklahoma’s “go to international food festival” as Oklahoma City’s population of minority groups continues to expand.
The Red River Shootout football game between The University of Oklahoma and The University of Texas will be live streamed at the Foodie Fest of OKC event for those in attendance to view.
OKC Black Eats was founded by Apollo Woods in 2017 to increase awareness of Black-owned restaurants and small businesses in the area. The organization aims to inspire community engagement through live music and culinary experiences, while serving as a driver of direct spending in the local business community.
OKC Black Eats credits their local campaigns in generating more than $1.3 million in direct spending for Black-owned businesses in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
