Free downtown OKC home tour returns

Block 42
On Sunday, August 8, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership and the Business Improvement District will host the 2021 Downtown Home Tour to provide a glimpse of what it is like to live in the heart of Oklahoma City. This event occurs every two years, is free to the public, and will showcase some of the newest, most talked about addresses in downtown.
An urban lifestyle features central living, walkability, and access to public transit. Downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods are lively places with a distinct sense of community. People choose to live downtown for the quality of life, ease of access amenities and character of its neighborhoods.

The Bower
This year’s tour will feature seven properties showcasing homes for all lifestyles, including working professionals, families, and empty nesters. The diverse line-up showcases upscale apartments and rental lofts, historic sites, and high-end condos and townhomes.

The Villa Teresa Residences
A unique property available for public viewing includes the highly anticipated Villa Teresa Residences in Midtown. The Villa Teresa campus, once home to the Carmelite Convent and Catholic School, was saved from demolition and is currently being redeveloped by Marva Ellard and Billy Woodring. Ellard and Woodring have devoted decades to historic preservation and revitalization in downtown Oklahoma City. Ellard said, “We were drawn to this project because of its significance to so many people in Oklahoma City. Everyone has a Villa Teresa story or some tie to the sisters and the school.” A project years in the making, the Villa Teresa Residences pulls from the past and into the present. The Classen Flats, the project’s collection of contemporary flats, are nestled on the east side of the historic grounds.
This year, Downtown Home Tour attendees can explore downtown living by way of the OKC Streetcar, with all properties just a short walk from the OKC Streetcar route. Attendees can present their physical or digital Eventbrite ticket to receive free rides on the OKC Streetcar as they travel from one location to the next. The home tour is self-guided, and guests may begin at any participating location.
