Get outdoors this October at the Oklahoma River

By Kaylee McDaniel / Lifestyle / October 6, 2020

There’s no better time to get outside than October in Oklahoma, and fortunately, RIVERSPORT is giving us all a full agenda for our weekends with activities scheduled at the Oklahoma River. RIVERSPORT’s Outdoor October will include pop-up shops, food trucks, authentic German food and family-oriented experiences on four Saturdays in October, each with a different focus.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, RIVERSPORT will transform into an Oktoberfest celebration with German beers, brats and music. The next week on Saturday, Oct. 17, activities include a 15-mile guided group bike ride and showing of the BMX movie “Rad” with Olympic Gold Medalist Bart Conner. Finally, on Saturday, Oct. 24, you can head to the Oklahoma River for a day of geocached treasure hunts and clinics on camping, hiking and cooking outdoors.

The weekend activities will also include an on-site bike park with scooters, One Wheels and bikes for rent. A new urban nature trail, food trucks and pop-up vendors (including axe throwing and a mobile rage room if you’ve got some emotions to confront) will round out the experience.

Admission is free for this event, which will last 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each Saturday in October; parking at the Boathouse District will be $10. Learn more.
