October at Oklahoma Contemporary

The Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center is offering events with something for everyone this month.
On Sunday, Oct. 16, Oklahoma Contemporary will bring together scholars, artists and community organizers for an important discussion at Community Conversation: In Close Proximity. According to their website, speakers at the event will discuss the interwoven and fractured relationships across socioeconomic and racial lines between neighboring peoples in Oklahoma. It’s free to attend and no registration is required.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, Automobile Alley’s Art of Beer will be hosted at Oklahoma Contemporary from noon to 6 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will feature local breweries, an artisan market, musical performances, lawn games and opportunities to create your own art. You can read more about the event here.
If you’re looking to develop your inner artist, you can register for the Ceramic Soup Bowls workshop on Thursday, Oct. 27. Participants will be able to create their own bowl for soup, ice cream, popcorn or other snacks. Registration can be completed online here for $65 and closes on Monday, Oct. 24.
