OKC Dodgers baseball continues to be a hit with fans; team readies itself for 2023 season

Basketball isn’t the only sport in Oklahoma City with ties to the “big leagues.” Oklahoma City is also home to the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the Triple-A affiliate of Major League Baseball’s storied club the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Oklahoma City Dodgers are members of Minor League Baseball (MiLB), competing in the Pacific Coast League East Division. OKC has had a MiLB team here for decades and has been affiliated with several other MLB clubs, including the Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros, among others. They have played as the 89ers, RedHawks and, most recently, the Dodgers. There was even a stretch back in the early 1900s when they were the Mets and a short time later, the Indians.

After playing in one Pacific Coast League Championship since their move to Oklahoma City in 2015, the OKC Dodgers are ready to hit the diamond in 2023 with hopes of returning to the title game at season’s end. Last year, the OKC Dodgers just missed participating in the MiLB playoffs after finishing in third place of the Pacific Coast League.

The Dodgers will play a 75-game home schedule in 2023 and will play their season and home opener at 7 p.m., March 31, at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark against the Tacoma Rainiers. Single-game tickets are now on sale for that and other games to be played from April through September. Tickets are available for purchase online at okcdodgers.com.

Dodger fans will enjoy a fun-filled season in 2023 with lots of promotions planned throughout the home schedule. A fan favorite returns once again in 2023 with Friday Night Fireworks. Each Friday night game, including on Opening Night March 31 and Tuesday, July 4, fireworks will light up the sky following each game to the delight of fans of all ages.

Dodgers field trip days return April 12 and April 26 at 11:05 a.m., and June 14 at 12:05 p.m. Eight Braum’s® Friends and Family dates and eight All-You-Can-Eat dates take place on either Fridays or Saturdays throughout the 2023 schedule. To learn more about field trip days or the group promotions mentioned above, call (405) 218-2100 or visit the Dodger website.
